YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Just One Day!

Quitting smoking is the single best thing you can do to improve your health. And cigarette addiction is easier to kick when you take it one day (or hour... or minute...) at a time. Try it for just one day.

 

Follow the steps below to ensure your success!

   1.  Pick Your Quit Day

  • Make it special, a day that has meaning for you

  • Join a community-wide quit smoking day           

    2.  Two weeks before your quit date

  • List your reasons and read aloud

  • Share your intentions with friends and family to get their support

  • Reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke each day

   3.  QUIT DAY

  • Have a plan for "triggers" (things, people or situations that make you want to smoke)

  • Understand that urges (cravings to smoke) are very normal

  • Stay away from places you associate with smoking

  • Use nicotine gum, patches, or lozenges to help with cravings (be sure to follow the information packet included with each product).  Also, your doctor will have more information on other prescription medication that can help you quit smoking.
